A full custom website build for a new Indian restaurant in Baillieston, including a bespoke table reservation system that removes reliance on third-party services and allows full ownership of customer contacts. The project also features a custom online ordering solution built to avoid high commission fees, alongside a dedicated function suite section for private events.

Project Overview

The website was designed and built from the ground up on Wix, with a strong focus on performance, usability, and long-term cost efficiency. Instead of relying on third-party booking platforms, a bespoke table reservation system was implemented, removing ongoing monthly fees while allowing the business to retain full ownership of its customer data. All reservation details are stored directly within the business systems, enabling Mataras to build and maintain its own customer contact base over time.

A custom online ordering system was also fully configured as part of the build. This solution was designed to bypass high-commission third-party ordering platforms, ensuring a significantly larger portion of each order remains with the business. While initially hidden, the system is fully built, tested, and ready to be activated instantly without further development when required.

A dedicated section for Darcy’s Function Suite was created to support private hire enquiries for birthdays, weddings, corporate events, and funeral purvey packages. This section clearly outlines capacity information, catering options supplied directly by the Mataras kitchen, and features a streamlined enquiry form that feeds directly into a Google Workspace email system for efficient handling by staff.

The website was fully optimised for mobile devices, thoroughly tested across reservation and enquiry flows, and launched with SEO best practices in place to support local search visibility. Staff training documentation was also provided, allowing the team to confidently manage reservations, enquiries, and ongoing updates in-house.

The end result is a modern, scalable hospitality website that reduces reliance on third-party platforms, keeps control of customer data and revenue, and supports both day-to-day restaurant operations and private event bookings.
